I did manage to keep myself reigned in during this venture, which was hard due to the fact that the clothes they have out these days are SUPER cute. It doesn't help that my darling daughter is quite the clothes horse and kept coming up to me with armloads of clothes saying, "Mommy....isn't this PERFECT for school??" and, "Mommy, I just LOOOOOVE this one...can we please get it??". I held firm to a few skirts, a new dress, a new pair of jeans, two new pairs of shorts, and a few new shirts. Oh yeah...and I got her two pair of the COOLEST shoes on the planet:

I swear, if they'd had them in my size I'd be sportin' a pair too!! I still need to get her some new tennis shoes, but I'd say she's pretty set for now.
She'll soon be a proud attendee of the First Baptist Preschool....Four-year-old division :P She'll get to go three days a week and then she will get some Grandma Time for two days a week. Paula put her foot down on Hannah not going full time to preschool (which I was really glad she did because I am NOT ready for her to be in school every day yet!).
It just amazes me that she's ready to embark upon this new adventure in her life. Since I haven't "listed" stuff out in a while....here goes a Hannah List!
September 2004: Pregnancy test revealed that Hannah was on her way! Unfortunately, so was Hurricane Ivan! My doctor was in Pensacola at the time and because Pensacola was barely hanging on to the panhandle of Florida at the time, I switched to a doctor in Crestview. We were able to tell most of our family all at one time that we were expecting because Austin and I were the only ones who still had power after the hurricane hit. We had a houseful who were bumming hot water showers and electricity off of us at the time! If memory serves me correctly, Aunt Krisy was actually the first one who had it sink in what we were telling them!

September 2004-May 2005: Numerous doctor appointments! My first due date was May 5th....which would have made her birthday 5-5-05. It didn't take long for them to move the due date to May 25th...apparently I can't count (which doesn't surprise ANY of you who are familiar with my math skills....or lack thereof!)
We first heard her little heartbeat at around 8 weeks. It was a very fast heartbeat...I believe around the upper 170s, lower 180s. Mia proclaimed her to be a girl. (well... there was that and the fact that she said I looked pregnant from the back! This she tells me when I'm EIGHT WEEKS PREGNANT....NOT what you want to hear that early on! Of course, this is the woman who is the daughter of Pat Chandler... oh yes, the same Grandma Pat who told me when I was 15 that I had "child bearing" hips. Grateful for that NOW, but not so much at the age of 15!!!)
First ultrasound was at 13 weeks. Again, since I can't count, they thought I was more at 16 weeks! This was when my due date what changed. Austin and I nicknamed her "Skelatore" after this ultrasound for obvious reasons. It was at this u/s that we found out she was a girl. I was secretly hoping for a girl, so I was very pleased!

Second ultrasound was at 24 weeks. Everything looked great and they confirmed again that she was a little girlie! (I'd post a pic of this one, but my scanner hates me!)
I passed my glucose test at around 28 weeks...although just barely!
On May 21, 2005, Austin and I went to a cookout for some good friends of ours. We'd been working all day on the bedroom addition of our house and it had been REALLY hot that day. My ankles were the size of my thighs....(you've heard of "cankles"?? well I had "thankles!). I attributed the way I felt that night to being up on a ladder painting in the heat all day, so I really didn't think too much of how tired I was or the upper leg cramps I kept having. We left the cookout at around 11:00 pm. I was on the phone to the hospital at 11:30! Around 12:00, we made a few phone calls and headed to Crestview. We got settled into our room at around 1:00 in the morning and I was instructed to try and get some rest (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA). My blessed epidural arrived at around 4:00 am and it was around that time I was told that my doctor was out of town (and would come see me the following day and get on to me for NOT waiting on him to get back in town.....) and the on-call doctor would deliver Hannah. At that point, I didn't care if the janitor delivered her...as long as she got here!

Dr. Hood came in at around 9:30 am on May 22nd and told me that I would have a baby girl by 10:00! She was RIGHT on the money! At 10:00 am on May 22, weighing in at 6 lbs 15.9 oz and measuring 20" long, Hannah Kayden was born at the NOMC in Crestview! She scored a 9 on the APGAR (they deducted a point bc she took a sec to turn all the way pink...) and was absolutely perfect!

We gave her the name "Hannah" after my Grandma Pat and Austin. My grandmother's maiden name was "Hanus" which roughly means "Descendent of John"....Austin's first name is "John". So it was perfect! "Kayden" became her middle name....mainly because we just like the sound of it and we liked the nickname "Hannah Kay".
We took our baby home on May 24th .

Thank you godmothers, Carrie and Runyan, for the welcome home sign!!

My baby's growing up despite my best efforts to keep her little....I am terrified for what the future holds. Not because SHE can't handle it, I'm just afraid that I can't!! And here's Hannah Kayden NOW!!
